CA Distinguished School

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We scored 7.9 out of 8.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise God! Only 11 schools in all of Santa Clara County received the invitation for the on-site visit, which is the next and final step. Supposedly, it's a formality. I'm really excited and happy.It's very satisfying to see the fruits of our labor come to life. A part of me is so honored to be a part of this and so happy that our school is getting the recognition it deserves. However, a part of me is sad because as my co-worker noted, we are still the same school it was ten/twenty/thirty years ago, with or without this label. We teach the same, love the same, encouragement and support our students the same...and yet, how does a label change anything? Does it make moot the efforts of those before us? As our test scores continue to rise, our principal notes that incoming parents have been calling to ask for a school tour/meeting. Ha...ha, who do you think we are? Randy's school? Cupertino? This never happens at our campus! And yet, we are still the same people and the same school as we've always been.

Now the next item to decide is...am I going alone to the ceremony or is the whole Lee clan coming along????
